Alessandro Burlamaqui Alianza Lima Injury News

CUZCO, Peru — Alianza Lima will face a crucial match against Cienciano without key midfielder Alessandro Burlamaqui, who is sidelined due to a muscle injury. Burlamaqui suffered a grade one quadriceps tear during a recent match against U de Chile, and he is expected to be out for approximately two weeks.

Pedro Aquino is likely to take Burlamaqui’s place in the starting lineup, having previously replaced him during the Copa Sudamericana quarterfinal match against U de Chile earlier this week. While Alianza Lima will miss Burlamaqui, they will welcome back defender Carlos Zambrano, who has completed a two-match suspension.

The match against Cienciano is set for Sunday, September 28, at 18:00 (Peruvian time) and will be broadcast live on Liga 1 Max. The team has hopes of reviving their chances in the Liga 1 Clausura 2025.

Burlamaqui, 23, joined Alianza Lima as a reinforcement for the second half of the season. He quickly became a key player in head coach Néstor Gorosito‘s strategy. Gorosito has indicated that he sees a long future ahead for the young midfielder at the club.

In addition to his absence for the Cienciano match, Burlamaqui will miss upcoming games against Atlético Grau, Alianza Universidad, Sport Boys, and Sport Huancayo. His availability will be assessed as he continues to recover from the injury.
