Justin Bieber Responds to Mother’s Healing Prayer with Humor
LOS ANGELES, CA — Justin Bieber offered a light-hearted response to his mother’s heartfelt prayer for him, posted on social media last month. Pattie Mallette, Bieber’s mother, expressed her support through an Instagram post on September 22, where she shared photos of her son alongside a lengthy caption invoking spiritual healing.
Mallette, 50, wrote, “I declare freedom, strength, clarity, and healing over you Justin. Every chain of fear, confusion, heaviness, and pain—be broken in Jesus’ name.” She also prayed for truth and protection for her son, emphasizing her deep faith while urging followers to join her in prayer.
Her emotional message included wishes for healing both “seen and unseen,” and encouragement for Bieber to be a “bold witness” of God’s love. The post prompted many fans to respond with supportive messages, as they echoed her sentiments of prayer.
However, when Bieber, 31, replied two weeks later on October 5, his response took a humorous turn. He commented, “Only thing I need healing from is my rolled pinky toe from playing ping pong.” This light jab at the sincerity of his mother’s concerns drew mixed reactions from followers, some appreciating his humor, while others interpreted it as dismissive of his mother’s intentions.
Interestingly, just days before Mallette’s post, Bieber had been reflecting publicly on his faith, discussing how it helps him navigate life’s challenges. In a separate post, he commented on the importance of grace, stating, “Jesus becomes the prize. And growth becomes something you desire because of the grace we have received.”
Despite the humorous exchange between the two, Bieber’s marriage to Hailey Baldwin has brought a sense of stability to his life. The couple welcomed their first child, Jack, in August 2024. Bieber has previously shared that fatherhood and his relationship greatly influence his emotional wellbeing.
As Bieber focuses on his faith and family, he released two albums this year, including “Swag II,” which features songs with religious themes. The singer continues to navigate public scrutiny regarding his mental health and personal life but remains dedicated to his music and family.
