AAP Leads in Punjab Bypolls, NDA Ahead in Other States: Election Results Update

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), a member of the INDIA bloc, is leading in by-elections in Punjab, while other alliance members such as Congress, TMC, and DMK are ahead in 10 out of the remaining 12 seats where by-elections took place this week, as per the Election Commission (EC) website and state officials.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is currently in the lead in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, while its alliance partner, the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)), is leading in Rupauli, Bihar.

By-elections were conducted on July 10 in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Tamil Nadu. The counting of votes is ongoing with results expected later in the day.

The bypolls were held in multiple states including Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and others. Prior to the elections, the BJP, Congress, and Trinamool Congress each held two seats, with one seat each held by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Janata Dal (United), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Independents held the remaining three seats.
