Amul Requests Return of Ice Cream Tub with Centipede to Investigate Incident
Dairy company Amul has reached out to a customer in Noida, Deepa Devi, urging her to return an ice cream tub after she discovered a centipede inside, sparking concerns over packaging and supply chain operations.
The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets all dairy products under the Amul brand, expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to Deepa Devi due to the unsettling incident.
Amul disclosed that they had met with Devi and requested the return of the ice cream tub for a thorough investigation, emphasizing the need for the package to assess and address integrity issues within the supply chain.
Emphasizing their commitment to product quality and safety, Amul assured customers of the superior quality of their automated plant processes, inviting Devi to witness the stringent quality checks first-hand.
An investigation has been launched by food safety authorities in Noida in response to Devi’s social media post that included a picture of the centipede found in the ice cream tub purchased through an instant delivery app.
