Bay Village Student Dies After Lacrosse Injury

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio — The Bay Village School District is mourning the loss of a high school student following a tragic injury during a lacrosse match. Dylan Veselic was critically injured while playing against Olmsted Falls on Tuesday.

Superintendent Scot Prebles shared the news in a voicemail to families, expressing deep sorrow over the incident. Despite immediate medical attention and surgery, Veselic passed away two days later.

The community has rallied around Veselic’s family, with a meal train fundraising effort already raising over $30,000 to support them during this difficult time.

A prayer service is scheduled for Thursday at St. Raphael Church in Bay Village at 7 p.m. to honor Veselic and support his family in this time of grief.
