CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver suffered a biceps injury and was ruled out of the team’s game against the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football.

The injury occurred just before the two-minute warning during a rushing play by Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard. After Oliver fell to the ground while blocking, he flexed his left arm and appeared to be in distress.

Oliver walked off the field with athletic trainers during the break, briefly entered the medical tent, and then headed to the locker room where he was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game.

This injury comes as a significant blow to the Bills, who are already dealing with issues at the defensive tackle position. Fellow defensive tackle Jordan Phillips has missed the last two games with a calf injury he sustained during warmups before a Week 6 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

To add to the challenges, rookie defensive tackle Tim Settle is also on injured reserve. Oliver had just recorded his third sack of the season in the game, showing his importance to the team’s defense.

Bill’s coach stated that they will assess Oliver’s condition in the coming days.
