Billy Strings Zach Top Collaboration

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Billy Strings and Zach Top are redefining bluegrass music with their new EP, “Me & Billy,” released on February 28, 2025. This collaboration showcases three tracks that blend their respective styles, allowing both artists to expand their fanbases and musical boundaries.

The EP was initially an Apple Music exclusive last fall, but is now widely available on all streaming platforms. It features reimagined versions of Top’s songs, “Bad Luck” and “Things to Do,” alongside a cover of the classic “Don’t Cheat In Our Hometown” originally by Ricky Skaggs.

“We had a lot of fun, traded back and forth some playing and whatnot,” said Top about his partnership with Strings. “It’s so fun to watch him play. He’s known so much for a player that it sometimes gets passed over how great of a singer he is too. It was a blast to get to sing with him.”

Strings, recognized as one of the most compelling artists in music today, has seen significant success with his album, “Highway Prayers.” The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s all-genre Top Album Sales chart, marking a notable moment for bluegrass music, as it was the first time in over two decades that a bluegrass album achieved this distinction.

The friendship and collaboration between Strings and Top began to take shape during a music festival in Montana in July 2024, where they performed together for the first time. Their surprise duet of “Freeborn Man” was a highlight, blending their different influences to create a unique experience for fans.

In the months following, they continued to collaborate, including a notable appearance at The Grizzly Rose in Denver, where again they delighted audiences by joining each other on stage. Their chemistry has captivated both rednecks and hippies alike, demonstrating the universal appeal of their music.

Meanwhile, Top is making headlines with his rising career. He has been nominated for New Artist of the Year at the 58th Annual CMA Awards and is recognized by Billboard as “the future of country music.” His previous album, “Cold Beer & Country Music,” was critically acclaimed, achieving over 3.5 million streams in its first week.

The duo’s shared performances, including upcoming nights at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and The Bridgestone Arena, have sparked speculation about possible collaborations. Their unique stage presence and guitar skills offer a dynamic take on the genres they represent.

As both artists gear up for a busy concert schedule, fans eagerly anticipate more collaborative creations, demonstrating that country music and bluegrass are experiencing a renaissance through their efforts. Whether they share stages or not, Billy Strings and Zach Top look to leave a lasting impact on the music scene.
