Breeze Airways Cancels Redmond to Burbank Flights Before Launch
REDMOND, Ore. — Breeze Airways has canceled its planned flights from Redmond to Burbank, California, which were set to start in March 2026. The decision comes just months before the service was scheduled to begin. The news was confirmed by Jodi Low, customer service and administrative supervisor at Redmond Airport, on Friday.
While Breeze will not operate the route to Burbank, Alaska Airlines has already stepped in, offering daily nonstop service between Redmond and Burbank since October 26. Low stated that this arrangement ensures Central Oregon travelers maintain direct access to the Burbank area.
Breeze Airways had initially announced the new Redmond routes in August, which included flights to Provo, Utah; Las Vegas; and Burbank. Low mentioned that Breeze will still proceed with flights to Las Vegas and Provo as planned, with services set to start in mid-March 2026.
In an email to The Bulletin, Breeze said it did not want to cancel the Burbank route but needed to adjust its schedule to better manage resources. Breeze Airways spokesperson McKinnley Matson explained that such adjustments are rare, as the airline is known for maintaining a high market retention rate.
According to Breeze, their goal was to connect the Pacific Northwest with California, enhancing travel options for residents. The cancellation of the Burbank route comes amid changes in the region’s air travel landscape, as Avelo Airlines ceased its flights to Burbank earlier this month.
“While we never enjoy cutting service, especially before it begins, we occasionally need to make adjustments,” Matson said. She also highlighted that connections to Southern California airports will remain available via the Las Vegas flights.
