CBSE Opens Registration for CTET December 2024 Exam
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the opening of the registration process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) scheduled for December 2024. Candidates interested in applying for this examination can submit their applications online starting from September 17, 2024. The deadline for completing the online application process and paying the application fee is October 16, 2024.
For those wishing to apply for the CTET Primary Level paper, which covers teaching positions for classes I to V, candidates must have completed their 12th grade or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board. In addition, candidates must possess a two-year diploma in elementary education or a Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or an equivalent qualification.
For the CTET Junior Level paper, which applies to teaching positions for classes VI to VIII, applicants should hold a graduate degree complemented by a two-year diploma in elementary education, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) with at least 50% marks, or a four-year B.El.Ed degree. Candidates are advised to review the official notification for detailed eligibility criteria.
There are no age restrictions for appearing in the CTET exam, which is conducted twice a year. To qualify, candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks. The CTET examination will be held on December 1, 2024, featuring two papers. Paper II will be administered from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, while Paper I will be from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
The examination will comprise objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering language, child development and pedagogy, environmental studies, and mathematics, with a total of 150 questions. The application fee for general and OBC (NCL) category candidates is set at INR 1000 for either paper I or II, and INR 1200 for both papers. For SC, ST, and differently-abled candidates, the fee is set at INR 500 for either paper and INR 600 for both papers.
