Chastain and Spencer Star in New Holiday Comedy ‘Deck the Ya’lls’
Los Angeles, CA — Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer are reuniting for a new holiday comedy titled ‘Deck the Ya’lls.’ The film is set to bring the duo back together after their memorable roles in the 2011 film ‘The Help.’
‘Deck the Ya’lls’ is penned by Tracy Oliver and Stefanie Williams, known for writing ‘Girls Trip.’ The story follows Chastain as a New York baker who travels to South Carolina after falling for a Southern gentleman. There, she clashes with his overprotective mother, portrayed by Spencer, who is also a celebrity chef.
The film promises to deliver laughs and holiday spirit, with Wanda Sykes joining the cast in an undisclosed role. The production is expected to begin next year, generating excitement among fans eager to see the reunion of Chastain and Spencer.
Although a director has not yet been announced, speculation suggests that Tate Taylor, who directed ‘The Help,’ could be on the shortlist, given his close friendship with Spencer.
In other projects, Chastain recently signed on for the Apple TV+ series ‘The Off Weeks‘ alongside Ben Stiller. Spencer was last seen at the Tribeca Film Festival, where she starred in the drama ‘Tow‘ with Rose Byrne and Dominic Sessa.
Fans are looking forward to this new collaboration that merges the talents of two beloved actresses in a festive setting.
