Chip Black Returns to The Morning Show, Investigates New Conspiracy

NEW YORK, NY — Chip Black returns to the second episode of Season 4 of The Morning Show, following his documentary endeavors mentioned in the premiere. With Bradley, played by Reese Witherspoon, back at the newly merged UBN network, she is ready to explore a mysterious conspiracy reported by an anonymous source.
Bradley tries to find the informant within the UBN halls and eventually meets Chip. Over drinks, she shares the encrypted messages she received via the messaging app Deadbolt. Although Chip hesitates, saying he’s finally made peace with UBN, his passion for investigative journalism prevails.
“I think that Chip would really love the idea that he’s not at the epicenter of the stress,” actor Mark Duplass, who portrays Chip, said. “But when he’s offered a thread to pursue a story that could expose something important, he’s drawn back into that world he secretly misses.”
In a fast-paced montage, the episode features various storylines, including Alex Levy, played by Jennifer Aniston, at an Extinction Revolt protest, and Christina Hunter, portrayed by Nicole Beharie, rushing to her daughter’s recital. Meanwhile, Chip and Bradley wait anxiously for their anonymous informant in a Central Park tunnel.
Duplass expressed excitement about the opportunity to work more with Reese Witherspoon, saying, “It was really cool to do something with a new co-star and explore new storylines. It’s a blast to follow this investigative journalist’s path and uncover where the conspiracy lies.”
After analyzing the informant’s messages, Chip suspects that UBA, now UBN, covered up a chemical plant’s contamination, as reported by the Wolf River Chronicle. He also recalls pertinent information from his past at the network, seeking clarity on the spiked story.
