Chris Brown Celebrates 20 Years in Music with Major Achievements
Los Angeles, California — This week marks the 20th anniversary of Chris Brown’s self-titled debut album, which was released on November 29, 2005. The album featured his breakout single, “Run It!” which topped the Hot 100 chart and achieved triple platinum status. To celebrate this milestone, Brown, managed by Anthony ‘Ant’ Wilson of Tycoon Music, has reflected on a year filled with remarkable accomplishments.
In January 2025, Brown won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album for his latest release, 11:11 (Deluxe). This win was significant as it marked his second Grammy victory in that category in 13 years. Additionally, he earned two nominations for the upcoming 2026 Grammy ceremony for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance for “It Depends,” a collaboration with Bryson Tiller that reached No. 16 on the Hot 100.
Moreover, in 2024, Brown received his first RIAA Diamond certification for the hit single “No Guidance” featuring Drake. Reflecting on his achievements, Wilson said, “Winning isn’t everything, but it feels good. The consistent recognition of his artistry continues to solidify him as one of the biggest artists in the world.”
Amid these accolades, Brown also concluded the Breezy Bowl XX World Tour, which is recorded as his highest-grossing live outing. The tour consisted of 48 shows across 39 cities, drawing in approximately 2 million fans and grossing $300 million. The tour featured special guests like Bryson Tiller, with pop-up performances from Usher, 50 Cent, GloRilla, Tyga, Bow Wow, Sexyy Red, and Davido.
Wilson, Brown’s manager for over a decade, remarked on the journey, “We started off doing club and spot dates. My goal has always been to get him back to touring because that’s where he connects most with his fans.”
This past year also saw the launch of the sixth annual Tycoon Music Festival, led by Brown and featuring an impressive lineup that included Skilla Baby, Fabolous, Gucci Mane, and Wiz Khalifa.
When asked about the future, Wilson shared, “There’s always an album. The name and songs change constantly. We’re always in the studio.” He hinted that a new album may be on the horizon, with Brown known for his dedication to his craft, which often sees him working late into the night.
Looking ahead, Wilson mentioned that Brown is interested in acting, saying, “He loves and wants to act. There are acting classes, and he’s gearing up for that.” He also expressed interest in a potential performance at the Super Bowl is under consideration.
Through ups and downs in his career, Wilson stated, “It’s nothing that I’m not used to at this point. We just smile and keep going. Chris’ kids ground him, and he connects with fans who see him as a real person.”
As for a potential Verzuz battle with Usher, he mentioned, “I’m not saying no if it makes sense.” With a busy schedule ahead, Wilson remains optimistic about their future projects, including a series of television shows with 50 Cent.
