Convicted Killer Faces New Charges
The Kempton Park Regional Court commenced hearings on Thursday for a new trial against convicted serial killer, Nomia Rosemary Ndlovu. Ndlovu, who is already serving six life sentences for orchestrating the murders of her relatives and a boyfriend, is now facing two additional charges of conspiracy to commit murder.
Ndlovu is accused of plotting to murder the ex-husband of her friend, Nomsa Mudau, as well as Sergeant Keshi Mabunda, the officer responsible for investigating Ndlovu’s previous crimes. Her court appearance saw her dressed in a white flowing dress and accompanied by female correctional officers.
The trial was delayed to enable Mudau, her co-accused, to secure legal representation. There are complications involving a third suspect in the case, who is reportedly evading arrest.
The case links back to claims that Ndlovu orchestrated murders to collect insurance payouts, which allegedly amounted to over R1.4 million. She faced charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice for the deaths related to this scheme.
Nomsa Mudau and Rosemary Ndlovu stand accused of hiring Jabulani Mtshali to execute Justice Mudau, Nomsa’s ex-husband, for insurance benefits. Mudau allegedly offered R75,000 for this task. However, the plot did not succeed as Mtshali allegedly communicated the plan to Justice Mudau.
Justice Mudau expressed relief that the trial is advancing but remains concerned about his safety due to the situation. He shared that he has reinforced security around his home with cameras and trained dogs for protection. Despite these measures, he continues to live with caution.
Justice Mudau also reported that the incident has severely affected Nomsa’s relationship with their children, who are yet unwilling to see her following her arrest. The children, aged 12 and 17, have been notably impacted by the unfolding events.
The trial progresses, with both Ndlovu and Mudau maintaining their plea of not guilty.
