Emergency Alert Issued for Bororen Due to Hazardous Chemical Incident

An Emergency Alert has been issued by the Queensland Police Service for the community of Bororen.

A hazardous chemical incident occurred on the Bruce Highway between Daisy Dell Road and Turkey Beach Road in Bororen.

As a result of this incident, a 2.5 kilometre exclusion zone has been established by police.

Residents within the exclusion zone are strongly advised to Leave Immediately to ensure their safety.

If residents are unable to evacuate, they are instructed to shelter indoors, close all windows and doors, and turn off air conditioning systems to reduce exposure to potential contaminants.

This alert follows a serious incident where a truck carrying ammonium nitrate exploded after colliding with another vehicle on the Bruce Highway earlier today.
