Meghan Markle Suits Tim Matheson

Tim Matheson, a seasoned actor and director, recently recounted his experience working with Meghan Markle during her tenure on the legal drama «Suits.» The insights came as Matheson promotes his memoir, «Damn Glad to Meet You: My Seven Decades in the Hollywood Trenches,» offering anecdotes from his time in the entertainment industry.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Matheson spoke highly of Markle’s talent and professionalism on set. «I never had to worry about a scene she was going to be in. I knew that she’d bring a performance that was just right,» Matheson reflected, noting her ability to engage with the material and adapt to direction quickly. He further praised her as «lovely,» describing an early dinner with the cast where her charm was particularly evident.

Matheson also touched upon Markle’s surprising transition from actress to member of the British Royal Family. Markle, who was previously married to film producer Trevor Engelson, became engaged to Prince Harry in 2017, a development that Matheson described as unexpected. «My first thought, being an actor, was, ‘She’s going to quit acting,'» he remarked about the bold career shift Markle undertook by joining the royal family.

Markle’s last appearance in «Suits» coincided with the cusp of her new life as a duchess. However, her journey alongside Prince Harry has since taken more turns. In 2020, the couple stepped down from their roles as senior royals, citing intrusive media coverage and a hostile environment as contributing factors.

Matheson expressed a measured understanding of the challenges faced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. «It’s refreshing that she’s as candid and honest about her experience – both of them are,» he said, acknowledging the couple’s public disclosures about their royal experience, including a high-profile interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Additionally, «Suits» creator Aaron Korsh shared with the Hollywood Reporter that the royal family had some influence over Markle’s character while she was still filming, leading to changes in dialogue for certain scenes. The palace’s input, as noted by Korsh, involved altering a specific use of the word «poppycock,» a situation resolved by replacing it with «bulls–t.» This incident highlighted the broader influence of Markle’s royal commitments on her acting career.

As for Markle’s future, speculations continue regarding her potential involvement outside of Hollywood, with some pundits suggesting a possible interest in politics. The Duke and Duchess now reside in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, suggesting a continued departure from traditional royal life.
