SUEZ and AFD Renew Partnership for Water and Sanitation Services

Sabrina Soussan, the CEO of SUEZ, and Rémy Rioux, Director General of the AFD, have recently signed a new three-year partnership agreement to deepen their collaboration in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Ensuring access to water and sanitation for all and promoting sustainable water resource management is a key focus of the partnership.

The AFD is committed to this goal and leverages its resources and expertise to make it a reality.

SUEZ, with over 160 years of experience, provides innovative solutions to provide access to essential water and waste services.

This new three-year partnership aims to strengthen cooperation in the transition to ecological water, sanitation, and waste sectors.

The collaboration will involve sharing knowledge on sustainable water resource management, improving quality of life, and sustainable governance of resources amidst climate change.

The partnership will facilitate the exchange of expertise and experience between SUEZ and the AFD through technical workshops and site visits.

Both organizations will capitalize on their respective knowledge to achieve their shared goals.

Since 2009, the AFD and the Fondation SUEZ have jointly funded the Chaire SUEZ-AgroParisTech «Eau pour tous» to train water sector professionals in partner countries.

Rémy Rioux, the AFD Director General, expressed his pleasure in renewing and enhancing the partnership with SUEZ to improve global access to water and sanitation services and elevate their Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.

He highlighted the partnership as a demonstration of the complementarity between public and private French entities in solidarity investment, in line with the directions set by the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister during last year’s Presidential Council for Development and CICID.
