Fatal Crash Us 23 Ann Arbor Township

ANN ARBOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A serious crash involving four vehicles resulted in one woman’s death and several injuries on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025. The incident occurred on northbound US-23 near Pontiac Trail.

Police reports indicate that a semi-truck driving southbound crossed the median and collided with three northbound vehicles. A 49-year-old woman from Plymouth was pronounced dead at the scene. Several others sustained minor injuries.

Officials have not yet determined the cause of the semi-truck’s loss of control, nor have they indicated whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.

Chopper 7 visuals captured the aftermath of the crash, showing significant debris and a semi-truck partially off the road. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic. “It was very violent. There was a lot of dirt and debris,” said Harold Hosking, who was two vehicles behind the crash.

Hosking and his wife were traveling to Cleveland when they saw the semi-truck veering into oncoming traffic. “I saw it happen. We saw the semitruck deep into the woods and couldn’t see the front,” he said, adding that an SUV was pushed further into the trees.

The Michigan Department of Transportation confirmed that US-23 reopened late Friday night after being closed for several hours, impacting thousands of drivers.

Authorities have promised further updates as the investigation continues.
