John Fetterman Senate Approval Poll

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, is facing a significant shift in approval ratings as he navigates political challenges and impending government shutdowns. A recent Quinnipiac University poll revealed that 54% of Pennsylvania Democrats disapprove of how Fetterman is representing them, contrasting sharply with just 10% disapproval last year.

Fetterman has found unexpected support from Republicans, where 62% approve of his performance, a stark contrast to last year’s 75% disapproval among GOP respondents. This shift comes as Fetterman has occasionally sided with congressional Republicans on key issues.

Independent voters remain divided, showing no change in attitude compared to last year. Fetterman, who was elected to the Senate in 2022 and is set for re-election in three years, has been open about his struggles with depression. His support has notably changed since President Joe Biden‘s second term began in January.

Polling analyst Tim Malloy remarked on Fetterman’s surprising change in fortunes, saying, ‘One-time Democratic darling John Fetterman flips the approval script as Republicans embrace him and Democrats give him low marks.’

In recent actions, Fetterman voted in favor of a Republican proposal aiming to prevent a government shutdown. He has been critical of Senate Democratic leadership, stating that a shutdown could benefit former President Donald Trump and create chaos in the country.

In an interview with Fox News, Fetterman clarified that he has no intention of switching parties, despite his criticisms of some Democrats. He stated, ‘If you want a Democrat that’s going to call people Nazis or fascists… I’m not going to be that guy.’
