George W. Bush Congratulates Donald Trump on Presidential Win
Former President George W. Bush has extended his congratulations to former President Donald Trump following Trump’s projected win in the 2024 presidential election. In a statement released early Wednesday morning, Bush acknowledged the outcome and praised the democratic process.
“The strong turnout in this election is a sign of the health of our republic and the strength of our democratic institutions,” Bush said. He also thanked President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their service to the country.
Notably, Bush did not endorse any candidate during the election and kept his voting preference private. However, his daughter, Barbara Bush, had canvassed in Pennsylvania for Vice President Kamala Harris last month, and former Vice President Dick Cheney had announced his support for Harris.
Bush concluded his statement by expressing his hopes for the success of the new leaders and the continued blessings of God on the United States. “We join our fellow citizens in praying for the success of our new leaders at all levels of government. May God continue to bless our great country,” he said[1].
