Getty Images Flags Another Royal Photo Over Digital Enhancements
A recent discovery by international photo agency Getty Images has brought into question the authenticity of yet another royal family photo. The 2023 image, attributed to Catherine, the Princess of Wales, and featuring Queen Elizabeth II and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, has now been marked as ‘digitally enhanced at source’ following closer inspection.
The photo, taken at the queen’s Balmoral Castle in Scotland in August 2022, exhibits a series of anomalies when scrutinized. These include distortions in the queen’s attire, misalignments in the background furniture, and a noticeable blur along the edge of Prince Louis, one of the royal children captured in the image.
Getty’s decision to flag this image comes shortly after a similar controversy erupted over a more recent photo released by Kensington Palace in March. This image, marking British Mother’s Day, was found to have been digitally altered, triggering widespread discussion and speculation.
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, who is known to enjoy photography as a hobby, admitted to editing the March photo of her and her children. However, despite public curiosity, Kensington Palace has refrained from releasing the original, unedited version of the image.
Amidst concerns over Kate’s health, intensified by the revelations of the doctored photos, recent sightings of the royal family have aimed to quell speculation. Reports in British tabloids indicated that Kate and her husband, Prince William, were spotted at a farm shop near their residence in Windsor, with observers noting her apparent well-being.
Royah Nikkhah, a prominent royal editor, shared insights suggesting that Kate’s public appearances and activities post-surgery are expected to resume in mid-April, possibly reassuring those who have questioned her absence.
