Ice Agents Des Moines Search

DES MOINES, Iowa — Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted a search in the Ewing Trace Mobile Home Park on Friday morning, focusing on a white vehicle parked at a dead end. The operation, which started around 8 a.m., involved multiple law enforcement agencies and lasted several hours.

Eyewitnesses reported a chaotic scene, with shouts from officers urging individuals to ‘come out with your hands up.’ Taylor Willis, a neighbor, expressed concern, saying, ‘Being a single parent, it shook me.’ The neighborhood is typically quiet, but Willis noted similar incidents have occurred in the past six months.

As law enforcement arrived, an Iowa State Patrol vehicle sealed off the park’s entrance. KCCI news reporters observed a K-9 unit and several other patrol vehicles at the scene, along with officials from the Des Moines Public Schools.

During the search, evidence was recovered from the white vehicle, including a firearm, which was placed into an evidence bag. It remains unclear whether any arrests were made or if anyone was taken into custody.

Authorities have yet to provide details regarding the suspect ICE is pursuing. Efforts to reach the Iowa State Patrol and Des Moines Police Department for comment are ongoing. KCCI will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
