Josh Brolin Opens Up About His Mother and Chaotic Childhood in New Memoir
Josh Brolin, the acclaimed actor known for his roles in films like ‘The Goonies‘ and ‘Dune,’ has recently discussed his complex and tumultuous childhood in his new memoir, ‘From Under the Truck.’ In a recent appearance on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ Brolin shared some of the extraordinary and often chaotic experiences of his early life, which were heavily influenced by his mother, Jane Cameron Agee.
Brolin described his childhood home as a place filled with wild animals, including bobcats, which he mentioned had bitten him on multiple occasions. This unconventional upbringing was a result of his mother’s unconventional lifestyle and her love for animals.
During the interview, Kelly Clarkson expressed surprise when Brolin compared her to his mother, highlighting the strong and unique personality of Jane Cameron Agee. Brolin reflected on how his mother was a significant figure in his life, describing her as a ‘character’ until her death.
Brolin also delved into his journey towards sobriety and how it has positively impacted his life, particularly in his role as a parent. He shared that his path to recovery was supported by his wife, Kathryn, and how this journey has helped him appreciate his parents more as he grew older.
