Kimberley Businesses Shine as 19 Finalists for WA Tourism Awards

Kimberley, Australia – Kimberley businesses and individuals are set to make a mark at this year’s Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards, with 19 locals named as finalists. The gala dinner will be held on November 8 at Crown Perth, showcasing the region’s top talents.
Among the finalists are notable organizations such as Australia’s North West, Broome and Around, Broome Weddings and Events, Freshwater East Kimberley Apartments, Ord Valley Events, and HeliSpirit. On the individual front, nominees include William Maher from Kimberley Day Cruise and Sue Thom of Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa.
The gold medal winners in 26 categories will go on to represent Western Australia at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards scheduled for March 2026 in Fremantle.
Broome Visitor Centre manager Mel Virgo expressed her excitement at the recognition of local operators. “We are incredibly proud to see so many Broome-based operators recognized as finalists in the 2025 WA Tourism Awards,” she said. “These nominations showcase the depth of talent, innovation, and cultural richness that our region offers.”
Virgo added, “Broome truly shines as a destination when our operators succeed, and we wish all nominees the very best in the awards.”
Kimberley MLA Divina D’Anna emphasized the significance of the nominations. “This is a real celebration of our region and the unique cultural and wilderness experiences that make the Kimberley stand out on the world stage,” she said.
D’Anna praised local operators for their dedication in sharing the area’s culture and beauty with visitors. “I wish all of our Kimberley finalists the very best, and I’ll be cheering them on — hopefully we can celebrate some big wins together!”
