Billund, Denmark – LEGO has officially launched the highly anticipated LEGO Star Wars Death Star set, boasting 9,023 pieces and 38 minifigures. Priced at $999.99, the set will be available for LEGO Insiders on October 1 and for the general public on October 4.

The official name for the set is LEGO Star Wars Death Star – Ultimate Collector Series (set number 75419). Unlike previous versions, this new model features a cross-section of the Death Star instead of a full sphere. The build showcases popular scenes from the original film trilogy, including the garbage compactor room, the confrontation between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan, and the Emperor’s throne room.

Included in the set are iconic characters like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Darth Vader. The design also features various commanders, two Royal Guards, and six Stormtroopers, highlighting LEGO’s attention to detail. This set offers a unique opportunity for fans to recreate classic moments from the movies.

LEGO recognizes that the price tag is significant, making it potentially out of reach for many. However, fans are excited about the expansive design and numerous interior details. Chris Reed, a commerce editor for IGN, shared his thoughts, noting that although the price is high, the set is designed for dedicated collectors who want a unique display piece.

In addition to the main set, customers purchasing the Death Star during its launch week will receive a complimentary TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack. This promotional offer has added to the excitement surrounding the release.

As LEGO continues to expand its Star Wars lineup, fans eagerly await what other models will emerge in the coming months. The Death Star set is expected to be one of the highlights for collectors in 2025.
