Maplewood to Replace Lead Water Lines Starting October 1

MAPLEWOOD, New Jersey — New Jersey American Water (NJAW) will replace lead service lines along Valley Street from October 1 to October 17. Work will take place daily between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

This project will require sectional closures along Valley Street. Customers can stay updated on daily closures through the Maplewood Police Department’s NIXLE system. Residents can sign up for alerts or text the zip code 07040 to 888777.

Essex County plans to follow NJAW’s work with an upgrade project at the Valley Street intersections. This includes milling and paving, which will be done at night to limit disruption.
