MLB Legend Darryl Strawberry Hospitalized Due to Heart Attack
Former MLB superstar Darryl Strawberry has been hospitalized in Missouri after suffering a heart attack. The news came just ahead of his 62nd birthday.
Strawberry, known for his time with the Mets, was reportedly working as a guest trainer in Port St. Lucie before the incident occurred. He is currently residing in O’Fallon, Missouri.
The Mets organization, where Strawberry made a significant impact, expressed their support for him. Plans are in place to retire his iconic No. 18 jersey on June 1 after honoring Dwight Gooden’s No. 16 on April 14.
During the 1986 season, Strawberry and Gooden played pivotal roles in leading the Mets to a World Series victory. Strawberry’s career highlights include numerous All-Star Game appearances and winning the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 1983.
Throughout his baseball journey, Strawberry also had stints with the Cardinals, Giants, Dodgers, and Yankees. His notable achievements include three World Series championships and an impressive stats sheet.
