Montana Winter Weather News

GREAT FALLS, Mont. — Several regions in Montana faced an unexpected blast of winter weather on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 13 and 14, 2025.

Some areas reported accumulations of several inches of heavy, wet snow, while other locations received significant rainfall. This mixed bag of precipitation has caught residents off guard, as spring was expected to bring milder conditions.

The National Weather Service indicated that more precipitation is on the way, suggesting that residents should remain prepared for continued winter-like conditions.

This late-season storm serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of Montana’s weather patterns, especially during transitional seasons.

A local resident, Sarah Jenkins, expressed her surprise, saying, “I thought we were done with snow for the year. It’s quite a shock to see it coming down again!”

As the community adjusts to these changes, officials urge caution on the roads, noting that wet and icy conditions could create hazards for drivers.
