NEET UG 2024 Counselling Postponed Due to Supreme Court Decision
The scheduled counselling for NEET UG 2024 has been postponed following a Supreme Court decision. The postponement comes after challenges and petitions concerning the medical entrance exam.
Supreme Court, led by CJI DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, is set to address NEET UG 2024 petitions on July 8.
These petitions involve allegations of paper leaks, calls for exam cancellation and re-conduction, and inquiries into the operations of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The NEET UG counselling process, including various rounds like stray vacancy rounds and mop-up rounds, was initially supposed to commence on July 6 for qualifying students.
Eligible candidates must register, make fee payments, submit choices, upload documents, and physically report to the designated institute as part of the counselling process.
NEET UG counselling under the 15% All India Quota covers seats in government colleges, central and deemed universities, and those reserved for ESIC beneficiaries.
Seats at AFMC in Pune are also part of the counselling process, highlighting its significance for aspiring medical students.
Recently, the NTA conducted a retest for 813 candidates, altering the top scorer count and bringing attention to exam integrity.
