Great news for students! The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), which operates under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), is all set to kick off the first round of NEET UG counselling today, August 14.

This is a big event for aspiring medical students, as the counselling will be for over 1,09,145 MBBS and 27,868 BDS seats. Plus, there will be around 1,000 BSc Nursing seats up for grabs, along with several seats in AYUSH and veterinary courses across the country.

In a notice dated July 29, the DGHS mentioned that although the counselling process is set to begin on August 14, registration likely started in the first week of August. Students are encouraged to keep an eye on the MCC website for the latest updates and details on the process.

The NMC secretary recently confirmed that the counselling will cover approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats spread across around 710 medical colleges in India. Additionally, they will also be handling the allocation for over 21,000 BDS seats and various seats in AYUSH and nursing.

It’s important for candidates to visit the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in for accurate information regarding the counselling procedure.

Students should also remember that the Medical Commission will be in charge of counselling for the 15% all-India quota seats, along with seats in all AIIMS, central universities, JIPMER, and deemed universities.

This follows the NEET exam held on May 5, where results were released after the Supreme Court addressed various petitions related to exam integrity and paper leaks.

If you’ve cleared the NEET exam, make sure to apply for the counselling through the official website. As always, the counselling will be conducted in multiple rounds for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and veterinary courses.
