Saturday Night Live” Announces Stellar Hosts for 50th Season
“Saturday Night Live” is set to begin its landmark 50th season with an exciting lineup of hosts. NBC has announced that the season premiere, which will air on September 28, will feature the Emmy Award-winning actress Jean Smart as the host. Jean Smart, who is renowned for her role in “Hacks,” will be hosting “SNL” for the first time. Musical artist Jelly Roll will also appear for the first time, bringing his unique style to the show.
Following the premiere, comedian Nate Bargatze will host the October 5 episode. Bargatze, who received acclaim for his previous hosting stint, will be accompanied by the popular band Coldplay as the musical guest. Coldplay is returning to “SNL” for their eighth appearance, coinciding with the release of their new album “Moon Music,” due on October 4.
Superstar Ariana Grande will step onto the “SNL” stage as the host for the October 12 show. This marks her second time hosting the series. Grande, known for her upcoming role in the “Wicked” film adaptation, will be joined by music legend Stevie Nicks. Nicks will return to “SNL” as the musical guest, having last performed on the show in 1983.
Michael Keaton, famous for his performances in films like “Beetlejuice,” is set to host the October 19 episode, making his fourth appearance on “SNL.” Accompanying him will be Billie Eilish, also in her fourth appearance as the musical guest, promoting her 2024 album “Hit Me Hard and Soft.”
On November 2, “SNL” alum John Mulaney will return as the host for the sixth time. Mulaney, a former writer for the show, is celebrated for his comedic sketches and will host alongside first-time musical guest Chappell Roan. Roan is emerging as a breakout music sensation with hits like “Good Luck, Babe!” and “Hot to Go!”
The 50th season of “Saturday Night Live” has been eagerly awaited, with fans excited for the potential return of former cast members.
