NVIDIA Launches New Driver for DOOM: The Dark Ages Before Release

SEATTLE, WA — NVIDIA has launched its latest GeForce Game Ready Driver (version 576.40) on May 12, 2025, to optimize the gaming experience for the upcoming title DOOM: The Dark Ages. The game is set to officially launch on May 15, with early access available starting May 13 for Premium Edition purchasers.
DOOM: The Dark Ages, developed using the new idTech8 engine, features advanced graphics capabilities including native ray tracing and NVIDIA’s DLSS 4 technology with Multi Frame Generation. This driver aims to enhance performance and visual fidelity, optimizing play on NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards.
NVIDIA promises that players using the latest GPUs can expect significantly improved frame rates, claiming up to four times faster rates with multiple NVIDIA technologies activated simultaneously. The game will also receive a post-launch update introducing path tracing, which is expected to further enhance visual quality.
In addition to the DOOM driver enhancements, the new update includes support for fifteen new and updated DLSS overrides and seven new G-SYNC Compatible gaming displays, broadening the options available for users. Among these displays are models from renowned manufacturers like Acer and AOC, designed to improve the gaming experience with variable refresh rates.
Moreover, users will find updated optimal settings for various games, including Assassin's Creed and New World: Aeternum, as a part of NVIDIA’s latest driver release. The company continues to encourage GeForce users to utilize the NVIDIA app for streamlined installation and optimization of drivers and updates.
