Earth Day Art Poster Contest, Children Art, Ogden Nature Center

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Ogden Nature Center is inviting children across Utah, from kindergarten through sixth grade, to participate in its annual Earth Day Art Poster Contest. This year’s theme, ‘What Nature Teaches Me,’ encourages young artists to creatively express their love and awareness of nature through art. The submission deadline is Saturday, April 12, 2025, by 4 p.m.

According to a recent press release, the submitted posters will be displayed at the Ogden Nature Center from April 26 to May 17. Each entry must adhere to the specified size of 8.5 inches by 11 inches and align with the contest theme. Organizers emphasize that participants should not adhere anything to their posters. Additionally, children must include their name, school, grade, teacher’s name, a home phone number, a parent or guardian’s email, and the title of their poster on the back of their submission.

The Ogden Nature Center will select three winners from each grade, along with one grand prize winner per grade. Winners will be announced during the center’s Earth Day celebration on April 26 at 11 a.m., where prizes will be distributed. The center will notify all winners to ensure their attendance at this celebratory event.

In an effort to encourage classroom participation, teachers who submit entries from their entire class will be entered into a drawing to win a free wildlife presentation at their school. Importantly, there is no entry fee for the contest, making it accessible to all interested students.

All entries can be collected from the Ogden Nature Center between May 17 and May 31. After this date, remaining submissions will become property of the Ogden Nature Center, which retains the right to use the artwork for future promotional purposes.

This initiative not only fosters creativity among children but also promotes environmental awareness within the community.
