Olly Alexander To Represent Uk At Eurovision With Catchy Song 'dizzy'

Olly Alexander, the talented artist from the United Kingdom, has been announced as the representative for his country at the prestigious Eurovision Song Contest. His captivating new single ‘Dizzy‘ will be the UK’s entry at the 68th edition of the international event set to take place in Malmö, Sweden.

The catchy track, co-written by Olly Alexander and renowned British producer Danny L Harle, draws inspiration from iconic 1980s acts such as Erasure, the Pet Shop Boys, and DJ Adamski. Alexander describes ‘Dizzy’ as a song that encapsulates intense emotions that turn one’s world upside down and inside out.

To complement the enchanting music, a mesmerizing music video for ‘Dizzy’, directed by Colin Solal Cardo, has been released. The video perfectly captures the dizzying theme of the song, adding a visually stunning element to Alexander’s Eurovision entry.

Olly Alexander’s musical journey has been marked by significant achievements, including two #1 UK albums and 10 UK Top 40 singles. Notably, he was honored with the BRIT Billion Award, recognizing his global impact with 6.5 billion streams worldwide.

Among the notable recent Eurovision performances, Loreen’s captivating song ‘Tattoo‘ left a lasting impression, paving the way for Alexander to bring his own unique style to the Eurovision stage. The UK’s previous entries, including Mae Muller‘s ‘I Wrote A Song‘ and Sam Ryder’s ‘Spaceman‘, have contributed to the country’s Eurovision legacy.

While the UK hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool on behalf of winners Ukraine, Olly Alexander will venture to Sweden to represent his nation with ‘Dizzy’. His multifaceted career, which includes acclaimed TV appearances in shows like ‘Skins‘ and ‘It's A Sin‘, has earned him a BAFTA nomination.

Participating in Eurovision with established stars is not uncommon, as seen with Loreen’s dual victories and other past entries like Lucie Jones and Bonnie Tyler. As the competition gears up for the semi-finals on 7th and 9th May, fans eagerly anticipate Olly Alexander’s performance in the grand final on 11th May, hoping for another memorable UK showcase on the Eurovision stage.
