Opposition Leaders Unite In Mumbai, Alleging Evm Tampering And Misuse Of Agencies By Bjp: Rahul Gandhi Leads India Bloc Rally

At the concluding rally of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Mumbai‘s Shivaji Park, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the ‘soul of the King is in the EVM‘. He claimed that without the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), PM Modi would not be able to win elections.

Pointing towards a deeper conspiracy, Rahul Gandhi stated that the EVMs, along with key governmental institutions such as the ED, CBI, and Income Tax department, embody the ruling party’s control. The opposition’s repeated requests to the Election Commission for EVM scrutiny have been denied, further fueling suspicions of tampering.

Accusations of misuse of agencies and EVM manipulation were echoed by other senior leaders present at the rally, emphasizing their resolve to eliminate EVMs once the INDIA alliance assumes power.

Expanding his criticism, Rahul Gandhi also highlighted the alleged intimidation tactics employed by the central government against opposition figures, citing a threat made by Arun Jaitley regarding potential legal action if he spoke about land acquisition.

Following the yatra’s successful conclusion in Mumbai, opposition leaders from various parties convened to emphasize the need for a national Mahagathbandhan. Members of the INDIA bloc, including Tejashwi Yadav, MK Stalin, Mallikarjun Kharge, and others, rallied behind Rahul Gandhi in condemning the BJP‘s tactics.

The presence of key political figures such as Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Uddhav Thackeray, and Mehbooba Mufti underscored the show of solidarity against the alleged misuse of agencies and the threat posed by unchecked EVMs in the upcoming elections.

In a strategic move, Uddhav Thackeray drew parallels to the presidential elections in Russia, subtly hinting at the consolidating power dynamics. This mobilization of opposition forces in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park marked a significant moment in the INDIA bloc’s united front against the BJP’s perceived authoritarian tendencies.

As the political landscape intensifies with the countdown to the Lok Sabha elections, the resistance against EVM dominance and agency interference sets the stage for a fiercely contested electoral battle. The opposition’s rallying cry against the perceived infringements on democratic principles resonated through the historic grounds of Shivaji Park, echoing a call for change and accountability.
