Outer Banks Stars Hint at Possible Future Storylines

Actresses Madelyn Cline and Madison Bailey, who star in the popular Netflix series “Outer Banks,” have revealed potential plot ideas for future seasons. Cline, aged 26, and Bailey, aged 25, discussed their off-screen scheming related to their characters, Sarah Cameron and Kiara Carrera, respectively. As the show gears up for its fourth season premiere, the duo shared their thoughts in an interview with PEOPLE.

While the series currently focuses on Sarah’s relationship with John B., portrayed by Chase Stokes, and Kiara’s budding romance with JJ, played by Rudy Pankow, the actresses have envisioned an alternative narrative. Bailey expressed that the storyline between Kiara and JJ could potentially hinder her “Kiara gay agenda.” Cline humorously mentioned their idea for a Sarah and Kiara romance, saying, “We’re plotting, but you don’t need to know.”

Despite the current plotlines, both actresses acknowledged that the prospect of an onscreen relationship between Sarah and Kiara remains a “dream scenario.” According to Bailey, this concept aligns with her previous endorsements for exploring Kiara’s “fluid” sexual orientation, stating, “I think everybody’s like, ‘She’s a little fluid. We’ll figure it out later.'”

Amid their creative musings, Bailey remains supportive of Kiara and JJ’s developing relationship. She noted, “I think Kiara maybe is in a more open place for a relationship, and JJ is still catching up with himself,” implying that the characters’ journey is ongoing.

Beyond romantic storylines, the upcoming season of “Outer Banks” will continue to follow the adventures of the Pogues, a group including characters Pope and Cleo. The team is set to embark on a new quest involving the legendary Blackbeard’s treasure, with Cline and Bailey reflecting on the characters’ willingness to take risks. Bailey admitted, “I’d ask a lot more questions. I’m not saying that I wouldn’t [do it], It’d just be a way harder sell.” Meanwhile, Cline commented on the motivation needed to pursue such adventures, humorously adding, “I need a cut.”

“Outer Banks” Season 4 premieres on Netflix on October 10, 2024, with the season split into two parts. The cast for this season includes returning actors such as Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Rudy Pankow, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, and Carlacia Grant, among others. New additions to the cast include J. Anthony Crane, Pollyanna McIntosh, Brianna Brown, Rigo Sanchez, and Mia Challis. Fans can anticipate another season filled with drama, romance, and treasure hunts.
