PlayStation Portal Launches Cloud Streaming for PS5 Games Today
San Mateo, California — Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today the official launch of Cloud Streaming for PlayStation Portal. The feature, available to PlayStation Plus Premium members, goes live at 6 p.m. PT on November 5, 2025, and allows players to stream selected PS5 games directly from their library.
Since the beta launch in November 2024, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers have enjoyed the benefits of Cloud Streaming, which eliminates the need for a PS5 console to be on. This new update will include thousands of PS5 games from various franchises, including popular titles like Astro Bot, Fortnite, and Resident Evil 4.
“We’re thrilled to bring Cloud Streaming and these new features to PS Portal,” said a spokesperson from Sony. “Your feedback has been invaluable in shaping the device’s evolution.”
The update introduces a redesigned home screen that features three tabs: Remote Play, Cloud Streaming, and Search, making navigation simpler for users. New functionalities enhance the gaming experience, such as the ability to play alongside friends using a separate account on the shared PS5.
For those who enjoy gaming on the move, Cloud Streaming provides the capability to play games at locations with high-speed Wi-Fi, such as hotels or cafes, even when the owner’s PS5 is switched off or in use.
In total, 2,793 titles from the PlayStation Store can be streamed on PlayStation Portal, which includes 196 games from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and 107 from the Classics Catalog. The availability of games will vary by region.
As excitement builds among the gaming community, Sony continues to push innovations within the PlayStation ecosystem, making gameplay more accessible and flexible than ever before.
