Downtown Bellevue Wisconsin Power Outage Restoration

BELLEVUE, Wis. — Nearly 4,000 customers lost power on Thursday morning due to a fire on a utility pole, but crews from Wisconsin Public Service quickly worked to restore service throughout the day.

The outage was reported at approximately 11:15 a.m. in the vicinity of Allouez Avenue and Bellevue Street, affecting areas including Verlin Road and Lime Kiln Road. Traffic lights in the area were also nonoperational as a result of the power loss.

According to a spokesperson for Wisconsin Public Service (WPS), more than 3,600 customers had their power restored within a few hours. The final 137 customers had their service restored shortly before 2 p.m. after extensive repair efforts were made.

“Our teams acted quickly to reroute power and restore service to as many customers as possible,” a WPS spokesperson said. The cause of the outage, identified as a fire on a utility pole, is still under investigation.

Brown County Public Safety Communications alerted the public to expect possible disruptions while some traffic lights remained inoperable. They advised drivers to approach affected intersections with caution, treating stoplights as four-way stops until power was fully restored.

The situation disrupted many daily routines, but with power gradually returned to all customers, the Bellevue community began to resume normal activities as evening approached.
