The Pune Traffic Police has taken action against trainee IAS Officer Puja Khedkar for multiple violations related to her Audi car. The vehicle, adorned with a red and blue beacon and a VIP number plate without proper authorization, was seized for breaching the Motor Vehicles Act and displaying ‘Maharashtra Government‘ markings illegally.

Furthermore, the Audi has been fined a substantial amount totalling Rs 26,000 for 21 different traffic infractions, signaling a significant penalty. After receiving a notice from the traffic department, Khedkar’s family driver surrendered the car keys to the Chatushringi traffic police station, although the required documents have yet to be submitted.

At the age of 34, Puja Khedkar is under intense scrutiny for alleged misconduct, aggressive conduct, and procedural irregularities during her UPSC selection process. Hailing from the Maharashtra cadre, she has been accused of demanding privileges such as a dedicated office, official vehicle, and support staff prior to assuming her role as an Assistant Collector in Pune, actions not typically sanctioned for probationary officers.

The controversy surrounding Khedkar has been further fueled by reports of her usage of a private Audi vehicle featuring government insignia and a beacon light, prompting a thorough investigation to determine the veracity of these claims.
