Queen Mary University of London has made significant strides in the academic world, ascending 25 spots in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, solidifying its standing as one of the premier educational institutions globally.

Notably, Queen Mary is ranked 120 worldwide, distinguishing it as the most improved University within the UK’s esteemed Russell Group of top research-intensive universities. It stands among only 20 universities in the UK to experience an upward trajectory in this year’s ranking.

Professor Colin Bailey, the President and Principal at Queen Mary University of London, expressed pride in the institution’s accomplishments. He highlighted Queen Mary’s exceptional research prowess, citing its 14th position globally for research quality in the Times Higher Education World Ranking 2024. Additionally, the university holds a joint 7th rank in the UK according to the 2021 Research Excellence Framework.

In alignment with their 2030 Strategy, the university has pledged to bolster its global reputation to match the excellence of its research endeavors. The substantial leap in the QS World Rankings this year signifies a significant stride in this pursuit.

The QS World Rankings, renowned as one of the most influential global university rankings, encompass 1,503 institutions across 106 locations, with a representation of 90 in the United Kingdom.
