Redhill School in Sandton Achieves Historic Results with 100% Bachelor’s Degree Pass
Redhill School in Sandton, through the Independent Examinations Board (IEB), has made history by achieving its best-ever matric results. The school attained a 100% bachelor’s degree pass rate, with a record-breaking total of 292 distinctions, averaging four distinctions per student.
The pupils at Redhill School have set a new benchmark for private schools, surpassing the impressive 98.46% pass rate achieved by IEB candidates overall in the 2023 National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams. This accomplishment showcases the exceptional dedication and academic excellence of Redhill School students.
Samuel Hertz, a remarkable student, has been recognized as the top achiever and DUX scholar at Redhill School. Hertz achieved an outstanding 96% average with an impressive 11 distinctions, including 10 distinctions above 90%. Known for his exceptional leadership skills, Hertz served as vice president and chairperson of the arts and culture committee during the 2021-2022 term, enriching the school’s cultural events and activities. His commitment to academic excellence earned him academic colours in 2021 and 2022, as well as an academic honours award in 2023.
Other top achievers at Redhill School in the IEB results include Zahra Mitha with seven distinctions, Emma Laws with seven distinctions, and Sinhle Sigwebela with six distinctions. These students have showcased their exceptional capabilities and dedication to academic success.
In addition to the IEB results, Redhill School also offers an International Baccalaureate diploma programme (IBDP), which has yielded outstanding results. The class of 2023 outperformed the international average, with an impressive average of 36.13, surpassing the world average by 7.07 points. Furthermore, four students achieved remarkable scores of either 42 or 41 points out of a potential 45 points, showcasing their exceptional performance on a global scale.
