Renowned South African Engineer And Professor Mulalo Reuben Doyoyo Passes Away

Renowned South African engineer, inventor, and professor Mulalo Reuben Doyoyo has tragically passed away at his residence in Kyalami Estates, Johannesburg. The unexpected demise of Doyoyo has left his family reeling from the shock, as conveyed by his elder brother, Tshitokisi Bitches Doyoyo.

According to Tshitokisi, their brother Albert Doyoyo, who had made attempts to reach Mulalo by phone last Wednesday, was unable to establish contact. Concerned, Albert, accompanied by their sister Tshifanyiso Doyoyo, went to Mulalo’s home, only to discover his lifeless body.

Born and raised in Vondwe village, Mulalo’s academic journey commenced at Vondwe Lower Primary School before progressing to Tshidimbini Higher Primary School and later Mbilwi Secondary School. He eventually excelled at the University of the Western Cape, where he held various leadership roles within the engineering student community.

His academic achievements included a master’s degree in solid mechanics and applied mathematics, with further research pursuits leading him to a postdoctoral position at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mulalo’s contributions extended to his role as a lecturer at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he established the pioneering Ultralight Systems Laboratory.

Mulalo Reuben Doyoyo will be laid to rest at the Vondwe Cemetery, with funeral proceedings scheduled to take place at his residence starting at 06:00 on Sunday. His legacy as a brilliant mind in the field of engineering and education leaves a lasting impact on those who knew him.
