San Jose Sharks Roster 2025 Season

San Jose, CA — The San Jose Sharks officially announced their 2025-26 NHL regular season roster today. General Manager Mike Grier revealed the names of the 23 players who will start the season with the team, ahead of the opening night on October 9 against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Notable forwards include Macklin Celebrini, Adam Gaudette, and Jeff Skinner, while the defensive line features Mario Ferraro and Dmitry Orlov. Goaltenders Yaroslav Askarov and Alex Nedeljkovic will guard the net for the Sharks.

One of the highlights of this year’s roster is the inclusion of Michael Misa, the team’s first-round draft pick. Misa is expected to be in contention for the Calder Trophy, alongside fellow rookies Matthew Schaefer of the New York Islanders and Ivan Demidov from the Montreal Canadiens.

The Sharks will also host a Pregame Festival from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Opening Night, offering engaging activities for fans before the game. Attendees will receive a special “Sleepover” bobblehead featuring Celebrini and Will Smith. Limited edition add-ons will be available for purchase at the venue, with all proceeds benefiting the Sharks Foundation.

Additionally, players such as Logan Couture and Ryan Ellis will start the season on the injured reserve list, while Egor Afanasyev and Lucas Carlsson will not feature on the roster.

With a few days until the puck drops, both the players and coaching staff are upbeat about performances from training camp and the upcoming challenges of the regular season.

Head coach Ryan Warsofsky expressed optimism about the team’s young talent, mentioning that the competitive atmosphere during training camp saw many players vying for their positions. He emphasized the importance of the team’s improvement, especially looking forward to the matchup against the Golden Knights.

As the regular season unfolds, fans will be keen to see how the new players adapt and how the Sharks plan to navigate potential mid-season trades. The team is under pressure not only to perform but also to utilize their established veterans wisely during this critical phase.
