Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Files Petition to Drop ‘Pitt’ from Last Name on 18th Birthday
On her 18th birthday, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, the daughter of Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, made a significant legal move by filing a petition to drop ‘Pitt’ from her last name.
The paperwork was submitted to the Los Angeles County Superior Court on May 27, marking Shiloh’s official request to be known as Shiloh Jolie moving forward. Born as Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, the teenager, who was born in Swakopmund, Namibia, joins her famous siblings Zahara, Maddox, Pax, Knox, and Vivienne in the high-profile Jolie-Pitt family.
Shiloh, known for her voice acting role in the film ‘Kung Fu Panda 3‘, becomes the first of the siblings to seek a formal name change. However, recent years have seen some of the Jolie-Pitt children choosing to drop the public use of their father’s surname.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who tied the knot in France in August 2014, have been embroiled in a prolonged divorce process since Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016. The details of their divorce settlement are yet to be finalized, with ongoing legal battles surrounding their shared business ventures and properties, including a winery in France.
