Sting and Trudie Styler Celebrate Love and Winemaking in Tuscany

Chianti, Tuscany — Sting and his wife Trudie Styler are enjoying lunch at their Tuscan estate, Il Palagio, celebrated for its vineyard and olive groves. The couple usually gathers under an oak tree, but today they are seated on a loggia due to windy weather.
Sting, 73, a 17-time Grammy winner, is dressed casually in blue overalls, a nod to his grandfather’s style. He shares that he feels connected to his roots while enjoying the tranquil surroundings. “We’re competitive,” he notes, while Styler offers a playful rebuttal.
The pair, who have been together for over 43 years and have four children, reflect on their life since purchasing the estate in 1997. They spent years restoring it into a thriving winery and tourist destination. Styler describes the estate as a magical place where they foster community bonds through shared celebrations.
Sting recently completed a sold-out concert in Abu Dhabi as part of an 18-month tour featuring just three musicians. “You have to work harder in a three-piece,” he states, adding that he enjoys spending time with Styler during breaks.
The couple has expanded their venture to sell their wines in the UK for the first time, drawing names from Sting’s songs. Styler laughs, saying it’s all in good fun. Their wines—including a chianti named after “When We Dance”—have garnered positive reviews from critics.
The estate not only produces wine but also olive oil and honey, offering a farm shop and pizzeria to visitors. Styler, an accomplished film producer, is currently working on various projects. She expresses pride in evolving within the arts and being a grandmother, illustrating their balanced, rich family life.
As they enjoy their meal, boasting tales of their grandchildren and reminiscences of their humble beginnings, there’s a noticeable warmth in their interactions—echoing their long journey of love and creativity. “We want to live life to its fullest as long as we can,” Sting remarks.
