Stocks of YES Bank, SJVN, IRFC, NHPC, NMDC, and Zomato Surge Amid High Volumes on NSE
Several stocks including YES Bank, SJVN Ltd, IRFC, NHPC, NMDC, and Zomato witnessed a notable surge in their prices on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) today. Among the gainers, YES Bank shares rose by 0.70% to Rs 28.90 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), with a substantial volume of shares changing hands. A report indicated that YES Bank might recover a significant portion of its dues from Katerra India through the sale of the company’s loans amid corporate insolvency.
Vodafone Idea also experienced an uptick in its stock price, with a volume of shares worth Rs 101 crore being traded. Meanwhile, NHPC shares climbed by 3.56% to Rs 91.70 on the NSE, recording a high volume of shares worth Rs 574 crore. Similarly, SJVN saw a rise of 3.28% to Rs 124.50, with substantial shares worth Rs 478 crore being exchanged.
IRFC shares were up by 3.11% at Rs 159.10, with a total of 3,01,69,036 shares worth Rs 480 crore transacted. NMDC Ltd observed a trading volume of 2,54,73,419 shares and surged by 5.94% to reach Rs 249.55. Notably, brokerage firm Kotak Institutional Equities provided insights on NMDC, indicating a fair value of Rs 205 for the stock.
Zomato’s shares also saw a positive movement, rising by 1.97% to Rs 155.25, with a substantial volume of shares valued at Rs 311 crore. Other stocks, such as Suzlon Energy, IOC, Punjab National Bank (PNB), and Nalco, also witnessed an increase in both their share prices and trading volumes on the NSE today.
In terms of turnover, Vedanta Ltd emerged as the leader with shares worth Rs 2003 crore being traded. Apart from the aforementioned companies, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, and other prominent entities dominated the turnover chart on the NSE today.
