Tom Brady Reveals His Dog Junie Is a Clone of Late Pet Lua
Dallas, TX – Tom Brady, the retired NFL star, has shared that his new dog Junie is a clone of his late pet Lua, thanks to Colossal Biosciences. The announcement came on November 4, nearly two years after Lua passed away in December 2023.
Brady, 48, explained how he used the company’s non-invasive cloning technology, which involved a blood sample taken from Lua before her death. In a press release, he stated, “I love my animals. They mean the world to me and my family.” He described the achievement as a “second chance” for his family.
Colossal Biosciences, which Brady invests in, has made significant advancements in biotechnology, claiming to revitalize extinct species and assist families in coping with pet loss. In their announcement, the company also revealed that they had acquired Viagen Pets and Equine, a firm known for pet cloning.
Brady expressed enthusiasm about how these technologies could benefit families mourning their pets while also contributing to wildlife conservation. He added, “I’m excited how Colossal and Viagen’s tech together can help both families losing their beloved pets while helping to save endangered species.”
Lua was a pit bull mix that Brady adopted while married to ex-wife Gisele Bündchen. She was considered a beloved member of the family, frequently appearing in social media posts alongside their two children, Benjamin and Vivian. Bündchen mourned Lua’s loss in a heartfelt Instagram tribute, and Brady echoed similar sentiments online, stating that Lua would always be cherished in their hearts.
Colossal Biosciences is known for ambitious projects, including efforts to revive the dodo bird and woolly mammoth. Viagen has previously made headlines for cloning pets for celebrities, including Barbra Streisand and Paris Hilton.
This new development highlights the evolving field of pet cloning and how modern technology can impact the bond between humans and their pets.
