Perth resident and notorious bikie, Troy Mercanti, found himself facing serious charges of sexual assault following a dramatic arrest at his residence in Karrinyup.

The 56-year-old Mercanti has been accused of two counts of sexual penetration without consent, one count of aggravated sexual penetration without consent, and one count of common assault according to the latest police reports.

Authorities executed a raid on a property linked to Mercanti’s family on Brodrick Street in Karrinyup, leading to his apprehension.

Appearing in court clad in a white paper jumpsuit, Mercanti, a member of the Mongols bikie club as revealed in recent legal proceedings involving Aaron Karl Labrook of the Rebels Bikie gang, confirmed his identity and understanding of the charges against him.

His legal representative, Paul Holmes, indicated plans to file a bail application for Mercanti but requested additional time to gather relevant materials for the case.

Magistrate Janelle Scutt acceded to the request for a postponement and scheduled the next hearing for Monday.

When approached outside the courtroom, Holmes declined to provide further comments on the ongoing case, emphasizing that the bail application had not yet been submitted but noted that his client was ‘fine’.
