Tru Fru Freeze Dried Snacks Recall

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, September 26, 2025 – Tru Fru, LLC announced today that its third-party manufacturer, Georgia Nut Company, has issued a voluntary recall of certain varieties of Tru Fru Freeze Dried products due to the potential presence of metal in the snacks. The announcement comes after a consumer alerted the company about the issue.

The recall affects Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries in Dark & White Chocolate and Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries & Crème, which were distributed nationwide. Major retailers involved include Albertsons, CVS, Food Lion, H-E-B, Hungryroot, Ingles Markets, Kroger, Stew Leonard’s, and Target.

No injuries have been reported as of now. However, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration cautions that metal objects can cause severe injuries, including cuts and perforations in the mouth, throat, stomach, and intestines.

Consumers are advised to check their products for specific 10-digit manufacturing codes located on the back of the packaging. The first four digits or letters will indicate if the product is part of the recall. The specific recalled items are as follows:

4. Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries & Crème (3.4 oz) – UPC 850048358249

If you have purchased any of these recalled items, do not consume them. Instead, dispose of them immediately. For refunds, consumers can fill out an online reimbursement form. Those with questions can contact Tru Fru customer support at (888) 293-7748.

The company will continue to work with retailers to ensure that the affected products are removed from store shelves. Further information regarding this recall will be available on the Tru Fru website.
