Two Planes Collide on Taxiway at LaGuardia Airport

New York, NY — Two Delta Air Lines regional jets collided on the taxiway at LaGuardia Airport on the night of October 1, 2025. The incident involved the wing of one CRJ-900 jet striking the cockpit windows of another.
The aircraft, both operated by Endeavor Air, were involved in a low-speed collision as flight 5047 arrived from Charlotte, North Carolina. Meanwhile, flight 5155 was preparing for departure to Roanoke, Virginia.
Audio from LiveATC.net captured the moment when the pilot of flight 5047 reported the incident: “We have two CRJs on (taxiway) M that collided. Their right wing clipped our nose and the cockpit wind screens.” This alarming report highlighted the severity of the collision.
According to air traffic control audio, the pilot of flight 5155 noted that one flight attendant sustained a knee injury during the collision. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that one individual was transported to the hospital, but no other injuries were reported.
Delta released a statement expressing their commitment to safety. “Delta will work with all relevant authorities to review what occurred as safety of our customers and people comes before all else. We apologize to our customers for the experience,” the airline said.
Flight 5047 had 57 passengers on board, while flight 5155 carried 28. Delta arranged for both groups to be taken to the terminal by bus and provided them with hotel accommodations and meals.
The Port Authority stated that the collision did not disrupt airport operations. As inquiries into the incident continue, CNN has sought comment from the Federal Aviation Administration, though a response may be delayed due to the ongoing government shutdown.
