Anant Chaturdashi Celebration

Anant Chaturdashi is a revered festival celebrated by Hindus and Jains, marking the end of Ganesh Utsav and inviting blessings from Lord Vishnu. Observed on the 14th day of the waxing moon in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, this festival holds deep spiritual and cultural significance.

This year, Anant Chaturdashi will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. According to Drik Panchang, the auspicious window for performing puja rituals is from 06:12 AM to 11:44 AM, with the Chaturdashi Tithi commencing at 03:10 PM on September 16 and concluding at 11:44 AM on September 17.

The festival is steeped in ancient mythology, where Lord Krishna advised the Pandavas and Draupadi during their exile to observe the Anant Vrat to overcome hardships and regain their lost kingdom. This fast is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is believed to fulfill wishes and provide lasting rewards in both material and spiritual realms.

Participants often fast throughout the day and partake in special prayers. A key ritual includes tying the ‘Anant Sutra,’ a sacred thread, as a symbol of divine protection. The belief is that observing the Anant Vrat for 14 consecutive years brings prosperity and well-being.

Anant Chaturdashi is viewed as auspicious for students, given its association with wisdom and success, as well as for individuals seeking financial prosperity. It is a time for devotees to strengthen their spiritual connection while anticipating abundance and joy.
